Twin Towers, Hollywood superstar

Filmmaker creates montage of buildings' cameos in film

  • Jeff Mock via Wikipedia

Although the Twin Towers no longer grace the New York City skyline, they will always exist, thanks to Hollywood.

The towers were a major presence in the 1976 version of “King Kong,” but mostly they served as a backdrop — an identifiable marker for the city — in films that include “Dog Day Afternoon,” “The French Connection,” the “Superman” movies, “Independence Day,” and “Deep Impact.’

Filmmaker Dan Meth pieced together a montage of clips of the Twin Towers in the movies that reminds America what was, and what was taken from us, on Sept. 11, 2001.
