Pima Community College
'Vagina Monologues' reading celebrates Women's History Month
A free staged reading of “The Vagina Monologues” will be presented at Pima Community College’s West Campus on Thursday. The reading will be in the Center for the Arts Proscenium Theatre beginning at 7 p.m. The presentation is sponsored by the West Campus Student Government and the Student Life Office.
"The Vagina Monologues" by Eve Ensler has become both an iconic and controversial post-feminist work. The play includes graphic language and situations. First produced in 1996, the play is reportedly presented in thousands of communities annually. The work has also spawned V-Day, an international response to violence against women.
This is the second year of the free presentation at PCC. The readers include faculty, staff and students. The presentation is part of the college celebration of Women’s History Month.
