Tickets for a March lecture by Spike Lee will be available to UA students at a presale rate of $5 Thursday and Friday.

The acclaimed filmmaker will lecture at the University of Arizona's Centennial Hall at 7 p.m. March 31. General admission tickets will cost $10 to $30 after the presale ends, with students tickets costing up to $15. All tickets will be sold at the Centennial Hall box office.

Lee's films include "Do the Right Thing," "Malcolm X," She's Gotta Have It," "Mo' Better Blue," and "Summer of Sam."

"Do the Right Thing" was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay in 1989. Lee's film "4 Little Girls" was nominated for the Best Feature Documentary Academy Award in 1997.

Lee is the inaugural speaker in the University Activities Board's new lecture series, "An Evening With...."

The Board will hold a contest for students interested in meeting Lee. Students can fill out application now through March 22 at the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership, on the fourth floor of the Student Union.

Six students will be chosen based on a submitted letter, script or original movie about why they want to meet the filmmaker.
