A group of about three dozen people danced to celebrate overcoming obstacles and mark the third anniversary of the Jan. 8 shootings as a part of a flash mob Downtown on Wednesday. They danced in unison, to choreography set to the song "Overcomer" by Mandisa.

The group, mostly women with one man and several children, organized on Facebook and met to rehearse their moves several times before making their appearance in El Presidio Park just after noon.

The dance will be performed again on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Armory Park as part of the Beyond events marking the anniversary of the attacks. Organizers encourage anyone wanting to participate to learn the dance by watching a tutorial posted on Youtube.
