Hey Dylan, link’s dead.

This story is sad, and very confusing…

I believe it was 1994 when I was first introduced to The Grill under its current name and look. Often when roller derby folks come in from out-of-town, we eat there…partially because of the late hours, partially because of the atmosphere. All my experiences eating at The Grill have been positive. The food good, the prices fair, the atmosphere inviting and somewhat comfortable (most of their furniture has quite a few miles on it).

Why I say “confusing” is because every time I’ve been in there they’ve been doing good business. I know downtown is a magnet for those that typically don’t like working, or paying for stuff. However, every time I have been to The Grill most of the folks I saw there had food in front of them. And, I’m sure they didn’t get that food for free…

Hey Dylan, is there such a thing as a reporter who takes requests? I’d like you to use your savvy reporter skills and heavy press credentials to drill deeper and see if you can get us some answers!

I meant the first link is dead. The second one works.

we are part of the Grill, and the Grill is not a thriving business for a number of reasons beyond anybody’s control

That part of the Red Room’s FB post is somewhat questionable. However, the rest of the post was touching and very classy, especially the part about going out with grace and style.

Weak coffee, sticky tables, torn seats, surly staff, crusty plates and bathrooms last cleaned in 1964 don’t lead to a thriving establishment? Go figure.
