Sand Rubies say 'adios' with final show

Desert rockers say they're disbanding

After a quarter-century of solid songwriting, countless club gigs and a brief flirtation with the big time, Tucson's prototypical desert rockers played a final show this week. I am biased not only in favor of the Sidewinders/Sand Rubies, but in the author as well, but I think this is a great tribute to a band that MIGHT not perform together again, but will forever be in our sun-dried Old Pueblo hearts.

Nice Job Ted,

I just wrote a whole story about my love and experience during the years 1986-1992 and how magical it was.  Then of course the computer freaked.

Anyway I’m deeply sad that I missed the farewell show.

I’m pretty sure they’ll place again.  If not only in our hearts.
