Pima's Stallworth named ACCAC Player of the Week for 2nd time

Pima Community College women’s basketball player Sydni Stallworth (Palo Verde HS) continued her stellar play last week and earned recognition from the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) on Tuesday.

Stallworth, a freshman guard, was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the second time this season for the week of Dec. 7-13. She helped lead the Aztecs to a 2-0 record with wins over Cochise College and Mesa Community College.

Stallworth averaged 20 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists. It was capped off by a 24-point performance against Mesa.

This is the fourth time in five weeks a Pima women’s basketball player was selected  with ACCAC Division II Player of the Week honors.

The Aztecs have won eight of their last 10 games and go into the holiday break with a 9-3 overall record and 6-1 in ACCAC conference play.

The Aztecs will be back at the West Campus for the fifth annual Bruce Fleck Classic from Dec. 29-31. Pima opens against Parkland College on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m.
