Nakai selected ACCAC Player of the Week for 5th time in Pima career

Pima Community College women’s basketball player Jacqulynn Nakai (Coconino HS) earned her first award for the 2018-19 season on Tuesday.

Nakai, a sophomore guard, was selected ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 12-18. This is the fifth time she has received this honor as she claimed it four times as a freshman.

The Aztecs went 1-2 at the Eastern Arizona Classic last week but Nakai was a consistent bright spot. She scored 74 points (24.6 average), grabbed 19 rebounds (6.3 average), dished out 20 assists (6.7 average) and picked off 10 steals (3.3 average).

The Aztecs are off until next Wednesday, Nov. 28 when they host Eastern Arizona College at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium. Tipoff will be at 5:30 p.m.
