Pima football's Hall named WSFL Defensive Player of the Week

Aztecs move up to No. 14 in NJCAA poll

Pima Community College football player Derik Hall (Sahuaro HS) earned recognition for his play from the WSFL conference on Tuesday.

Hall, a sophomore defensive back, was named WSFL Defensive Player of the Week. He is the fourth Aztec football player to be selected Player of the Week.

Hall had 12 tackles (nine solo) with two tackles-for-loss for six yards and one pass-break-up in Pima’s 21-13 win over Air Force Prep on Saturday at Cholla High School.

Quarterback Brooks Ringer (Offensive), kicker Jaime Avila (Special Teams) and slot receiver/return specialist Diamante Burton (Special Teams) have all been named WSFL Player of the Week.

The Aztecs moved up four spots in the latest NJCAA national poll to No. 14.

The Aztecs will play their final home game on Saturday against No. 9 Eastern Arizona College at Kino North Stadium. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m.
