Raymond Suarez Pima Community College

The Pima Community College volleyball team (9-7) played some tough matches at the San Diego City College Tournament on Saturday in San Diego, earning a No. 1 seed in the Championship Bracket while finishing in third place out of 13 teams.

The Aztecs defeated San Diego City College to begin the tournament 25-21, 30-28. They followed by beating the College of the Desert 25-11, 30-28. The Aztecs ended the day by dominating Cerro Coso Community College 25-12, 25-17.

The Aztecs lost a one-set match against South Mountain Community College 21-25.

Pima will play at South Mountain on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
