Aztec soccer: Men end slide; women drop third in a row

Men: Aztecs 5 - Mesa Thunderbirds 1

The Pima Community College men's soccer team put together its offense on Thursday, defeating Mesa Community College 5-1. The Aztecs had scored one goal in their last three games.

The Aztecs took a 2-1 lead at halftime and tacked on three more in the second half. Tyler Terrell  scored two goals for Pima. Declan Fulton, Enrique Alvarez and Fabian Romero each scored a goal as well. Tyler Wilson finished with four saves for the match.

Women: Aztecs 0 - Mesa Thunderbirds 3

The Aztec women's soccer team dropped its third game in a row after losing to Mesa Community College 3-0 on Thursday.

The Pima women couldn't convert on goal opportunities as they outshot Mesa 17-6. Erika Heredia finished with three saves for the match.

Coming up

Both teams travel to Scottsdale to face the Fighting Artichokes (yes, you read that right) of Scottsdale Community College on Saturday. (Both Pima teams are reportedly hungry for a win. — ed.)
