Ruedaflores scores late as Pima women's soccer shuts out South Mountain

The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (4-2-1) avoided going to overtime for the second straight game on Saturday.

The Aztecs defeated South Mountain Community College (0-5-1) 1-0 in Phoenix. They closed out the week with two shutout victories going 2-0-1.

Sophomore Paola Ruedaflores (Nogales HS) scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 85th minute with an assist from freshman Sabrina Zepp (Tucson HS).

The Aztecs held the Cougars to one shot on goal. Freshman Haven Chambers (Walden Grove HS) finished with one save.

The Aztecs will be back in action next Saturday, Sept. 15 when they play at Mesa Community College. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
