Kametani nets 4 as Pima men cruise by Paradise Valley

The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (2-1) put up a dominating performance on Tuesday, handing Paradise Valley Community College (2-1) its first defeat of the season.

The No. 4-ranked Aztecs defeated the Pumas 8-1 behind sophomore Hugo Kametani, who scored four goals (three in the first half) to set the pace. The Aztecs led 5-0 at the break.

Freshmen Ricky Gordillo and Ben Holthaus each scored a goal and had an assist in the game.

The Aztecs outshot the Pumas 11-4 while freshman Nils Roth finished the game with three saves.

The Aztecs will hit the road on Saturday when they play at Glendale Community College at 10 a.m.

Sophomore Hugo Kametani scored four goals for the Aztecs in their 8-1 thrashing of Paradise Valley Community College. The Aztecs have scored 11 goals in their last two games after being shutout in the opener at Arizona Western College.
