The University of Arizona women's soccer team will host the South Carolina Gamecocks at their home opener on Friday night. After being shut out in the first two games on the road by San Diego State and Pepperdine, the Wildcats are looking for their first win.
The Gamecocks kicked off their season on the road last week, with a 4-0 win over East Carolina and a 2-0 loss to Duke.
The Wildcats dropped their first game of the season to San Diego State, 1-0, and were shut out by Pepperdine, 2-0.
Arizona returns eight starters, and hopes to build on their 5-13-2 tally last season.
While the team is still seeking its first goal this year, the Wildcats have combined for 23 shot attempts in their first two games, including 11 on goal. A dozen players have made shots already this season.

Home games are played at Murphy Field at Mulcahy Stadium on the corner of Plumer Avenue and 15th Street. Tickets are $8; $5 for UA students, youth (under 18) and seniors (55+).
