Pima jumps captain Leyva signs to Central Christian College

The Pima Community College track and field team has signed away its fourth jumper to a four-year institution.

Sophomore Alan Leyva (Douglas HS), this season’s jumps captain, signed his national letter of intent to Central Christian College, an NAIA school in McPherson, KS.

Leyva earned All-Region as part of the 4x400 relay and was All-ACCAC in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. 

Leyva also earned All-ACCAC and All-Region honors last season. He was All-Region in the 400 meters as well as the long jump and triple jump and All-ACCAC in the 400 meters.

The men’s and women’s track & field teams will compete in the NJCAA Outdoor National Championships in Hutchinson, Kan., from May 18-20.
