Pima track & field compete at Glendale

The Pima Community College track & field teams competed at the Glendale CC Outdoor Invitational on Saturday in Glendale.

The Aztecs didn’t come away with any new national qualifying marks but had some top finishes nonetheless.

Marlee Sherwood (Mesa HS) took first place in the triple jump with a jump of 11.09 meters (36 feet, 4 inches). Right behind her was teammate Becca Harris (Salpointe Catholic HS), who set her mark at 10.88 meters (35-7). Maggie Prillaman (Ironwood Ridge HS) took first place in the long jump with a mark of 5.30 meters (17-4) while Vanessa Fox finished second with a jump of 5.03 meters (16-5).

Kevin Snead tied for first place in the 100-meter race with a time of 10.67 seconds.

The Aztecs will compete in the Mesa CC Classic Invitational on Friday at 4 p.m. in Mesa.
