Runner Regalado breaks Pima 5,000-meter record

The Pima Community College track and field teams competed at San Angel Invitational at Arizona State University on Friday.

Nikki Regalado (Cienega HS) broke the school record in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 17 minutes, 52.85 seconds. Kathy Fisher (Sahuaro HS) took first place in the 400-meter hurdles. This was the first time this season Fisher had competed in this race; she finished with a national qualifying time of 1:05.94. Jamie Shrader (Flagstaff HS) took third in the 1,500-meter race with a personal best time of 4:57.70, which gave her a national qualifying time. 

The Aztecs will continue competition on Saturday at Arizona State University.
