The Pima Community College softball team split a doubleheader at Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Tuesday. While the Aztecs lost a narrow fight in the first game, it was a different story in the second.

Jessica Schneider (Sahuaro HS) went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Mari Contreras (Sunnyside HS) went 1 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Yvette Alvarez (Sahuarita HS) took the loss (13-6).
The offense took over in Pima's 9-1 win in the second game, which was shortened to five innings by the mercy rule.
Shayna Binnion (Marana HS) got the win to improve to 4-0 on the year, giving up five hits and earning four strikeouts. Jessica Sipe (Mountain View HS) hit a grand-slam in the second inning. Nicole Rascon (Salpointe Catholic HS) went 4 for 4 and scored three runs while Gemma Contreras (Salpointe Catholic HS) went 2 for 3 with two runs scored.
