Flores and Gentry sweep ACCAC Division I Player/Pitcher of the Week honors

The Pima Community College softball team took over the ACCAC conference weekly awards on Monday.

Sophomore Megan Flores (Salpointe Catholic HS) was named ACCAC Division I Player of the Week. Sophomore Sierra Gentry was selected ACCAC Division I Pitcher of the Week for the week of Mar. 19-25.

Flores went 11 for 22 (.500) with two home runs, 12 RBIs and eight runs scored as the Aztecs went 5-1 in their games last week. She is hitting .460 on the season in 30 games played. She has 29 RBIs, 23 runs scored, 12 walks and nine doubles.

Gentry pitched 15 innings and went 3-0 in her starts against Glendale Community College, Central Arizona College and Mesa Community College. She has pitched 27.1 innings this season with a 5-1 record and a 5.38 ERA.

The Aztecs return to the West Campus Softball Field on Tuesday when they host No. 18 ranked Yavapai College. First pitch is at 1 p.m.
