Pima men's basketball's Murphy named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week

Pima Community College men’s basketball player Isaiah Murphy (Cienega HS) earned his second nod as ACCAC Division II Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Murphy, a sophomore guard, averaged a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 57.6 percent from the field as the Aztecs went 2-0 for the week of Feb. 19-25. He had 31 points and 13 rebounds in Pima’s win at Central Arizona College last Wednesday.

Murphy earned his first ACCAC Player of the Week award for the week of Nov. 6-12.

He played and started in all 30 games during the regular season averaging 16.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game.

The Aztecs will be the No. 2 seed for the Region I, Division II Tournament and will host No. 3 seed South Mountain Community College on Wednesday at the West Campus Gymnasium. Tipoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
