Pima track: Fisher & Reece earn No. 9 national rankings

Pima Community College's track and field teams competed in the Glendale Last Chance meet in Glendale, Ariz., on Saturday. A pair of Aztec women track athletes improved on their times and rankings.

Rhiannon Reece (Benson HS) set a pole vaulting mark at 10 feet, 6 inches, which put her ninth in the nation. Kathy Fisher (Sahuaro HS) finished the 600-meter race with a time of 1 minute, 37.73 seconds. That time puts her ninth in the nation, as well.

Kaysee Pilgrim (Barry Goldwater HS) improved her national qualifying mark in the high jump with a 1.56-meter (5-feet, 1.4 inches) jump.

The Aztecs will compete in the Arizona Relays at Central Arizona College next Saturday in Coolidge. Competition will begin at 10 a.m. The NJCAA Indoor National Championships will be on March 7-8 in New York.
