Aztec track's Betton takes 3rd in heptathlon

The Pima Community College track and field teams concluded competition in the Paradise Valley Community College Indoor Invitational on Monday as Jarell Betton (Lake Washington HS) moved up a spot in the men’s heptathlon.

Betton, who was in fourth place when competition stopped on Saturday, finished in third place. He took second in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 1.5 inches. He took fourth place in the 1,000-meter race with a time of 3 minutes, 10 seconds. In the 60-meter race Betton’s time was 9.20. 

On Saturday, he took second place in the shot put with a throw of 37' 11.25".

The Aztecs will host the Aztec Indoor Invitational on Saturday at the West Campus. Competition begins at 11 a.m.
