Nakai claims 7th ACCAC Player of the Week award

The Pima Community College women’s basketball team continued to roll and sophomore guard Jacqulynn Nakai (Coconino HS) was once again at the forefront.

Nakai was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 14-20. This is the seventh time she has claimed this honor.

She averaged 29.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 3.5 steals as the Aztecs won at Phoenix College and at home against Glendale Community College.

Nakai is averaging 22.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game. She has 984 points for her Pima career.

The Aztecs have won five straight and hit the road on Wednesday against Cochise College in Douglas. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.
