Robinson flirts with triple-double as Pima men out-gun Glendale

The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (15-4, 8-3 in ACCAC) bounced back in a big way on Saturday against Glendale Community College (10-8, 4-7).

The No. 9-ranked Aztecs had three players finish with double-doubles in their 100-82 win.

The Aztecs opened the game with a 22-5 run in the first 6:20 of the game and led 55-33 at halftime. The Aztecs maintained their double-digit advantage throughout the second half.

Sophomores Kennedy Koehler, Robert Wilson (Salpointe Catholic HS) and freshman Jordan Robinson (Tucson HS) all finished with double-doubles. Koehler produced his 12th double-double of the season with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Wilson collected his eighth double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Robinson finished just short of a triple-double as he posted 13 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds.

Sophomore Abram Carrasco (Cholla HS) scored 22 points with four rebounds and four assists while freshman Rashad Smith (Hamilton HS) added 11 points.

The Aztecs will play their next four games against ACCAC Division I teams. They will begin the second half of the season on Wednesday at Cochise College. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.
