PCC basketball's Bribiescas standout play earns her ACCAC Player of the Week

Pima Community College women’s basketball player Shauna Bribiescas (Dobson HS) was unstoppable last week for the Aztecs and the ACCAC conference took notice.

Bribiescas, a sophomore forward, was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week on Tuesday for the week of Dec. 31-Jan. 6.

The Aztecs went 2-2 as Bribiescas averaged 19.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.8 blocks per game. 

The Aztecs played three Division I teams as part of the Bruce Fleck Classic and got back to ACCAC Division II play with an 80-60 win over Mesa Community College.

Bribiescas has played and started in all 15 games. She is averaging 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.3 blocks on the season.

The Aztecs will return to the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Wednesday when they host South Mountain Community College at 5:30 p.m.
