A Jon Kyl Christmas

When Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid suggested he would keep the Senate in session until it had voted on a number of important legislative issues, Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl said, "Humbug!"

There's no way we're staying in session over Christmas, said Kyl. That'd be disrespecting the institution and disrespecting one of the two holiest of holidays for Christians. Oh, and it'd be disrespecting the families of all of the Senate, not just the senators themselves, but all of the staff.

And Sen. Harry Reid's a disrespectful Scrooge, who's probably a closet Muslim, with his pal the president.

'Cause Jon Kyl loves Christmas. Loves it. He's a god-fearin', red-blooded Christian American man. With a tee time. In Arizona. On December 25th.

“Congress ends on January 4th. So we’re going to continue working on this stuff until we get it done, or we have up-and-down votes and find that it can’t happen that way.”

— Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
