The evolution of Republican campaign thought

One thing is certain: the American political system continues to be good for cartoonists. After Reagan, who thought times would ever be so good again? But then we had Clinton!

And what could possibly equal that? Dubya! [Who despite shortcomings as a President, offered satirists - who are still waiting to hear how "My Pet Goat" turns out - plenty of material.]

President Obama is disappointingly bland, but with the G.O.P. campaign preseason well underway, there's no shortage of political material on offer ... and that should remain true for the next 13 months.

Roberto De Vido writes cartoons and comics about politics, sports (and life) from a small fishing and farming village an hour southwest of Tokyo.

“People who oppose Obama are said to be racists — so I guess I’m a racist.”
