Comic: War on Terror

A CIA operation has foiled an alleged underwear-bomb plot reportedly similar to one that failed on Christmas Day in 2009. In that incident, Nigerian would-be suicide bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to detonate his underwear on a flight to Detroit, but the device failed to perform as expected.

Defense Secretary Leon Pannetta said, "What this incident makes clear is that this country has to continue to remain vigilant against those that would seek to attack this country. And we will do everything necessary to keep America safe."

Keep America safe. Go commando.
