Mitt Romney thinks New Gingrich is "resigned in disgrace". And "was a lobbyist."
Newt, though he resembles these accusations, denies them. But he prefers not to waste valuable debate time debating those things; he wants to send you to his website, so you can check out "the truth" for yourself.
"I did not resign in disgrace," said Gingrich.
CNN reported: "He admitted to violating House rules and providing false and misleading information to the ethics committee," said an e-mail from Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul. "He released a statement saying he was wrong and agreed to pay a $300,000 penalty. He said, 'My actions did not reflect creditably on the House of Representatives.' Nearly 90% of House Republicans agreed."
