$165K in pot seized at I-19 checkpoint

Border Patrol agents seized $165,000 worth of marijuana at the Interstate 19 checkpoint on Saturday morning.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents stopped a red Chevrolet Cheyenne pickup truck with a towed trailer after a drug dog alerted to the presence of narcotics, the agency said in a news release.

Agents tore into the vehicle and found hidden compartments in the cabin and the truck's bed, containing 330 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $165,000.

The driver was arrested and the vehicle and drugs were seized.
