Tucson man arrested for smuggling $275K in cocaine

A Tucson man was arrested on Tuesday for trying to smuggle 26 pounds of cocaine worth an estimated $275,000 through Nogales, officials said.

Clinton Stratford Wheeler, 33, was arrested after officers with U.S. Customs and Border Protection discovered the drugs during a secondary inspection at the Dennis DeConcini crossing in Nogales, the agency said.

Officers found 10 packages of cocaine hidden behind the back seat of Wheeler's Nissan sedan.

The vehicle and drugs were seized and Wheeler was handed over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
