Border Patrol finds 1,700 pounds of pot in stolen truck

Border Patrol agents found a stolen vehicle loaded with more than 1,700 pounds of marijuana Monday in the West Desert, Customs and Border Protection said.

Casa Grande Station agents found the pickup truck while patrolling near Vekol Valley Road near Interstate 8. A records check of the truck found it had been reported stolen in Glendale, the Border Patrol said in a press release Tuesday.

Agents took the marijuana to the Casa Grande Station for processing and the truck was turned over to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.
