Nearly $1M worth of pot found stuffed into truck

A Sonoita Station Border Patrol agent working in the Coronado National Forest on Wednesday found more than 1,800 pounds of marijuana in a truck abandoned by a driver who fled on foot, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.

Agents were unable to locate the driver and believe the suspect fled into Mexico, a Border Patrol press release said.

The 75 bundles of pot, worth $920,000, and the pickup truck were seized.

This story has been corrected following an editing error. The marijuana was discovered in the Coronado National Forest on Wednesday, rather than Tuesday.
