J.C. Scott: Modern streetcar update

On Friday's edition:

We started the show with Ward 2 Tucson City Councilman Paul Cunningham, who gave his take on sales tax reform,  Sun Link streetcar construction progress, road repair and resurfacing, Downtown development and the possible sale of city-owned properties.

30 minutes into the show, we were joined by the president of the Southern Arizona Black Chamber of Commerce, Clarence Boykins, who talked about immigration reform, civil rights and voter ID laws, and affirmative action.

51 min: We were joined by TucsonSentinel.com's Dylan Smith and filmmaker Daniel Buckley, who joined John and Dylan to thank the community for help reaching his Kickstarter campaign goal of $15,000 to begin production of a documentary on mariachi music. Smith reported on the announced retirement of Pima Community College Police Chief Stella Bay, the hiring of H.T. Sanchez as superintendent of TUSD and renewal of Sunnyside Superintendent Manuel Isquierdo's contract.

83 min: We finished the show with Ward 6 Tucson City Councilman Steve Kozachik, who talked about the Reid Park Zoo master plan, the water supply in Vail and the surrounding area, along with possible incorporation and annexation. Kozachik also discussed streetcar construction progress, the idea of reconsidering the RTA plan and Downtown development.
