Tucson Water offers internships for teachers

Tucson Water is offering a summer internship program for high school and middle school teachers who are interested in learning more about utility and water management.

The two-week long course will introduce teachers to urban water cycles in Tucson, community water issues and what Tucson Water is doing to protect the long-term water supply, said Tucson Water spokesman Fernando Molina.

Molina said that for participating in the program, teachers will receive:

  • Up to $500 for completion of the two-week internship
  • $250 for participating in the classroom observation visit
  • Resources/information to bring to their students
  • Access to Tucson Water experts following the internship
  • Project WET Workshop handbooks
