Child porn could land Tucson sex offender in prison for 100 years

A Tucson man with a lengthy rap sheet may spend the rest of his life behind bars following his conviction for child pornography. Edgar Allen Fristoe, 65, faces sentencing of up to a century in prison next month.

Fristoe was found guilty in a bench trial on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. A investigation by the Tucson Police Department found Fristoe had possessed and transferred pictures and videos of child pornography on his cell phone, a news release from the Arizona Attorney General's Office said.

In November 2016, TPD received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that child pornography had been uploaded to a Google photos account. TPD investigated and established that the related email address belonged to Edgar Allen Fristoe, authorities said.

From the AG:

After a search warrant was executed, detectives found numerous pictures and videos of child pornography on Fristoe’s phone. He was arrested in November 2016.  Forensic analysis of Fristoe’s phone revealed he had transmitted the child pornography to other people using a chat messaging service. All of the victims in the pictures and videos are under 15.

Fristoe, a registered sex offender, was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison for a series of incidents in Prescott in 1980, in which he asked several girls, including three 11-year-olds, if he could pay them $5 to kiss them between their legs.

Fristoe also was convicted for indecent exposure in Oklahoma in 2001, the AG's Office said.

Fristoe's record includes prison sentences for DUI without a driver's license and criminal damage in 1992 (two and five years), 4.5 years for forgery and 18 months for drug paraphenalia in 1993, and convictions for threats and intimidation in 2015 and assault in 2005.
