Buck-O-Nine: Tucson gas prices lowest in nation

Arizona has the lowest average gas prices in the country, with Tucson stations offering the most affordable gasoline of all, according to AAA Arizona and TucsonSentinel.com's price tracker.

The national average for a gallon of regular stood at $1.812 on Tuesday, according to AAA. That's up from $1.739 a month ago, but much cheaper than the $2.454 per gallon price a year ago.

Across the state, stations were charging an average of $1.552 per gallon, up slightly from Monday's $1.547. Last year, Arizona stations charged nearly the national average, at $2.454.

But Tucson-area gas is the most affordable to be found. Here, just $1.329 will buy you a gallon, on average. TucsonSentinel.com's daily gas price tracker showed some stations with prices at $1.09 per gallon. That's three cents cheaper than Monday's lowest local price.

Cool!  Since everyone thought that $2/gal. gas was super cheap, let’s raise the gas tax by $.60.

Sorry, we missed your input...
