I-10 lanes restricted overnight near Pinal Air Park Rd.

Lanes of Interstate 10 will be restricted overnight through March 15 as crews work on a bridge at Pinal Air Park Road, north of Tucson, officials said.

I-10 is scheduled to be reduced to a single lane in both directions nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays for bridge deck work. Also, a 14-foot vehicle-width restriction will be in place.

Drivers should prepare for possible delays during those hours, Arizona Department of Transportation officials said.

The $1.7 million dollar project is taking palce near the Pinal/Pima County line between Tucson and Casa Grande (milepost 232). The existing bridge was built in 1963.

Work began in November 2018 and is expected to run through spring 2019.

Key elements of the project include:

  • Replacing the bridge deck
  • Repairing steel girders
  • Updating the guardrail

ADOT asked drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
