A Nogales, Ariz., teacher was arrested Tuesday after a Department of Public Safety officer found more than 19 pounds of methamphetamine and 12 pounds of cocaine hidden in a false compartment of the car the man was driving, DPS said.
Ricardo Siqueiros, 32, of Nogales, was pulled over near Eloy for speeding in a constructon zone and for following another vehicle too closely, DPS said.
Siqueiros, a teacher at Mexicayotl Academy, agreed to have his vehicle searched, DPS said.
The officer found a hidden compartment in the car stuffed with 12 packages of meth weighing 19.5 pounds and four packages of cocaine weighing 12 pounds. The combined value of the drugs is $300,000.
Siqueiros was arrested and booked into the Pinal County Jail. He has been charged with possession of dangerous drugs for sale, transportation of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, and transportation of narcotic drugs for sale, DPS said.
