A top advisor to the pro-Newt Gringrich super PAC defended their ‘King of Bain’ movie attacking GOP front-runner Mitt Romney during his reign at Bain Capital, despite its reported inaccuracies and dramatizations.

Rick Tyler, former Gingirch spokesman and current senior adviser to Winning Our Future said that the group will “absolutely continue airing the movie in South Carolina. “We stand by the film,” Tyler said on Fox News Sunday.

The 29-minute video has come under scrutiny over the accuracy of its claims. The Washington Post said the ad created a “highly misleading portrayal of Romney’s years at Bain Capital” and “manipulative.”

The film “is such an over-the-top assault on former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney that it is hard to know where to begin,” the Post wrote.

The inaccurate statements have even led Gingrich, who the super PAC supports, to ask Winning Our Future to clean up their ad and movie attacking Romney.

"I am calling for the Winning Our Future Super-PAC supporting me to either edit its 'King of Bain' advertisement and movie to remove its inaccuracies, or to pull it off the air and off the Internet entirely," Gingrich said in a statement

“The American people deserve a robust debate and full comparison of the plans and records of the people who are asking for their vote. They also deserve assurances that the information they are hearing is accurate. I am committed to holding my campaign and my supporters to this high standard of accuracy and I hope Governor Romney will do the same,” he continued.

Winning Our Future agreed to review the movie and ads if Romney would answer questions addressed in their open letter but spokesman for the former Massachusetts governor, Andrea Saul, dismissed the proposition.

“It is sad to see just how desperate Speaker Gingrich and his allies have become as his campaign continues to flounder,” Saul said in a statement.
