Weekend music: Check your local listings!

In honor of this week's feature story on the Great Cover-Up, I gathered some memories of Cover-Ups past from amongst the folks in Tucson's local music community. Here are some highlights for your reminiscing pleasure.

Seth Mauzy (Baby Gas Mask Records): "Following the Spacefish Led Zeppelin medley set was, literally, the toughest act we've ever had to follow."

Laura Kepner Addy (Laura and the Killed Men, Sun Bones): "My personal fave: James Bond theme songs w the Cordials. Full horn section and shadow dancers. So fun, so much work."

Paul Jenkins (Ryanhood, ...music video?): "Saint Rorschach as My Bloody Valentine was incredible. There was this one kid who did Bjork, Timberlake, Michael Jackson, and Mariah Carey." (Note: Said "kid" was Paul Jenkins.)

Mike Mihina (Shrimp Chaperone): "Hill Williams as Public Enemy was amazeballs. Can’t remember which year."

Jim Howell (Jim Howell Band): "Chango Malo doing the Temptations was great. Calexico doing the Minutemen. So many cool memories!"

Mario Cordova (Kicking Leaves): "Annie Hawkins Band doing Led Zeppelin was amazing. Brandon Gonzales killed it as did everyone but I can't quite remember the names of who else was in that band."

Mark Mason (Still Life Telescope, The Minds): "Hank Topless doing the Doors. Ghost Lodge doing Patti Smith"
