TailWaggers of the week: Whisper & Fini

Meet a couple of the many great companions available at our local animal rescue groups: Whisper and Fini.

Whisper

Whisper, a beautiful medium-sized Shepard-Rottie mix, is one of three mothers that was surrendered to In the Arms of Angels with nineteen puppies between them.  While their previous family showed them much love for the year the dogs lived with them, they were overwhelmed with taking care of so many puppies and reached out for help.

Today, Whisper is an incredible companion.  She wants to be with her human and is game for anything.  You want to hike, Whisper wants to hike.  You want to relax and read a book, she'll nap quietly next to you.  Whisper loves to play with other dogs, but she is not a fan of cats. We would not recommend a home with cats or chickens for Whisper. She walks nicely on a leash,  and is kennel trained and potty trained.  Whisper is also continuing to work on her house manners.

Whisper is available from In the Arms of Angels for an adoption fee of $125.00, which includes her microchip implant. She has been spayed and is fully up to date on distemper/parvo and rabies vaccines. Interesting in meeting Whisper? Please fill out an application with In the Arms of Angels.

Fini

Fini is an approximately 1-year-old male terrier mix who weighs about 30 pounds. Fini was rescued by In the Arms of Angels because he is very fearful of people in general and learning to work through his issues. He currently lives in a foster home with a doggie door, but even when the door is closed he is very good about waiting to go outside to potty. He is crate trained and is gentle when taking food. He walks very well on a leash but doesn't really know any commands yet like "sit".

In spite of his anxiety about being approached by people, he has a desire to be near people that is beginning to show through. Fini likes children the best! He is a kind, gentle and calm spirit underneath his fear issues and continued love, patience and working with him to grow confidence he will become the wonderful family member he is meant to be. Fini is still learning what items are appropriate to chew on and which ones are not, but he loves toys and bones and redirecting him to chew on those is easy.

Fini currently lives with five other dogs and a cat. He doesn't show much interest in the cat, and he plays with all the five dogs. He is shy when being introduced to new dogs but with proper introductions he does fine. He is very submissive to other dogs by nature.

Fini is available from In the Arms of Angels for an adoption fee of $125.00, which includes his microchip implant. He is neutered and current on his distemper/parvo and rabies vaccinations.

Interested in our special boy, Fini? Please fill out an adoption application and we will schedule a meet and greet.

Save a life

Most Tucson rescues are small, volunteer-based non-profit groups who rely on the community to fulfill their mission to save animals. Not only do they count on donations from the public to cover costs, they depend on people who are willing to open their hearts and homes to needy animals until they are ready for adoption. If you are interested in saving a life by becoming a foster please contact one of your local rescues.
