Win tickets to 'West Side Story' at the Loft

This weekend, you can see one of the classics of American movie musicals — the tale of Tony and Maria in "West Side Story" — at the Loft. And we're giving away a pair of tickets!

From our friends over at the Loft Cinema:

Presented in 70mm! With a greater aspect ratio and higher resolution than 35mm film, 70mm is sharper, richer and more immersive – the ultimate in film projection.

With just the right mix of flamboyant theatricality, thrilling beauty and gritty realism, Romeo meets Juliet – or rather, Tony meets Maria – on the streets and rooftops of New York, and true love blooms … but their transgressive romance is taboo.

Their rival neighborhood gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, will never accept the lovers’ star-crossed union, and trouble (as well as a lot of singing and dancing) ensues. Created by the musical dream team of Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Laurents, Jerome Robbins and Stephen Sondheim, and starring Natalie Wood, Richard Beymer, George Chakiris, and the electrifying Ms. Moreno, this legendary 1961 film won ten Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress (Rita Moreno), inspired countless generations of musical fanatics and brought Shakespeare’s classic tale of teenage romance to vibrant life … only here, instead of Verona, the setting is 1950s New York City, and as always, the course of true love never, ever runs smoothly. A jazzy, snazzy, high energy classic that almost leaps off the screen (when it’s not breaking your heart), West Side Story endures as one of the greatest musicals in Hollywood history. (Dir. by Robert Wise & Jerome Robbins, 1961, USA, 152 mins., Not Rated)

The film will be on the big screen Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at noon, but these passes will only be valid for Saturday night's show.

To enter to win a pair of tickets, comment here and tell us about your favorite musical, or let us know over on our Facebook page. Good luck!

And the winner is ... Vicki Dawson! Thanks for sharing, everyone, here and on Facebook.

We just moved to Tucson after driving cross-country in a rented Penske truck!  We are actually officially homeless until Friday afternoon when we settle on our home here.  This is my wife’s favorite movie of all time so we would love to tell everyone to go see it - it’s an awesome story with an awesome score and cast.

Sorry, we missed your input...
