New Calexico song falls from the sky

A second song from upcoming album "Edge of the Sun" was released by Tucson alternative rockers Calexico on Monday. "Falling From The Sky" features Band of Horses’ Ben Bridwell on backing vocals, and continues the synth-laden midtempo tone set by a song released by the band in January.

Like "Cumbia de Donde," the new song will be included on the album set for release April 14. Recorded at Wavelab Studios in Downtown Tucson, it includes a wide complement of guest musicians, including Carla Morrison, Sam Bean of Iron & Wine, Gaby Moreno and members of the Greek ensemble Takim, along with Bridwell.

The band kicked off live dates featuring the new songs with a concert in Glasgow last month. The band will interrupt their European jaunt with a short U.S. swing in late May and June.
