Calexico announces release of 'Edge of the Sun'

Alternative rockers Calexico will drop a new album in April. "Edge of the Sun" was recorded at Wavelab Studios in Downtown Tucson, and includes a wide complement of guest musicians. The band is kicking off live dates featuring the new songs with a concert in Glasgow this weekend, with U.S. tour dates pending.

The new record, slated for release April 14, includes guest appearances by Sam Bean of Iron & Wine, Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses, Gaby Moreno and members of the Greek ensemble Takim.

"Cumbia de Donde" includes Carla Morrison.

"We have a full European tour in April and May, as well as three German dates already announced for October, including Calexico’s biggest headline show to date in Berlin. U.S. tour dates will be announced very soon," according to the band's website.
